In Loving Memory
”A human being does not cease to exist at death. It is change, not destruction, which takes place.” -Florence Nightingale
”It is not dying, but living, that is the preparation for Death.” -Margo Asquith
”It’s only another adventure, after all.” -Dorothy Eden
”Watching a peaceful death of a human being reminds us of a falling star; one of the million lights in a vast sky that flares up for a brief moment only to disappear into the endless night forever.” -Elizabeth Kuber-Ross

I sent flowers down the river and falls for Pito almost every day of my trip. I don’t have photos, because I didn’t want photos, but prairie asters are what went down. Pito was remembered out in the back country, wholeheartedly.
I think Pito was embodied by the many eagles I saw, shortly before we ran rapids.
I know I felt him a time or two.
