I finally got notification about Russia, and I leave June 2!!!! I have so freakin’ much to take care of before then and I’m feeling a lot of pressure. Holy cow. I’m just going to try to breathe.
Lumpy will be meeting after camp, because camp is paying for two days in Moscow after camp is over, and we will be toodling about Europe for almost two weeks. Not sure where yet, since I just found out last night. I’m overwhelmed…here’s my to do list so far:
1. visa application
2. buy plane ticket-figure out if we’ll return from western Europe
3. rearrange my teaching so that French I does not have to be cut by 2 classes
4. ditto with running class, but only 1 make up class
5. get together all of my teaching materials (I have to bring my own worksheets, games, etc.)
6. figure out what clothing to bring
7. buy gifts for Russian kids, teachers, program employees
8. buy new SuperFeet
9. make a plan for She Runs 5k
10. get traveler’s insurance (required by camp)
11. fill out leave of absence form/vacation day use form for work
12. not freak out
13. buy a water filter
14. re-memorize the Cyrillic alphabet and the few phrases I learned
15. sleep
16. get a hair trim
Some of those are simple and small, and I’m sure there are things I forgot, but this is all the stuff swirling around in my head right now. I’m off to teach French class tonight, which will help, then I’m off tomorrow. Thank goodness.
Whew. I’ll let you know how much I can check off tomorrow. heh.
