Lumpy and I took G to Hyland again, and I knew I would not do well. We ran/walked, and actually saw quite a bit of wildlife. Right at the end I was thinking, “Gosh, we never see deer here…” Two seconds later a young female deer crossed the path right in front of us.
There’s nothing like running in 2-5 inches of mud to provide clarity. I felt like I had a rock in my stomach until we went running/walking/hiking.
Here’s the post run photo shoot:

I got “spooked”, or rather I spooked a deer at McAllister Park last week. It freaked me out a little - I guess I just wasn’t expecting one to cross my path, it literally darted out in front of me….
I like the mud. I need a little mud thrown in my hair to shake me out. It is raining so maybe I’ll go take advantage of it.
I wish you could actually see how much mud we had on us. It was wonderful. I always laugh when I get back in the car and realize that Guinness or I kicked some up on to my face and “OH! That’s why everyone was staring at us!!!”
