’nuff said.
Sally got me a Road ID for my birthday. Notice the dust on it? Yeah…you get the point.
More important are her strikingly apt words of wisdom at the bottom.
“Forget Paris”*
*At least until I get around to doing the next and final post in the How to run 50 marathons in 50 days series. The finale being: 11. Break It Down. Maybe this weekend, after a nice trail run.
Hey Sally, isn’t this weekend the Afton 5K? ;-

We both love this Road ID. It bothers me though, the pain that remains. I guess after a bunch more shitty races and terrible running experiences this will give The Lump some distance and comparative experiences. I, myself, will forgive Paris, but will never forget. Paris crushed a huge dream for me, but it did not break me. That is what I wish for Lumpy. That, and more French wine. Or at least cheese. At the bare minimum more time with Lucette. Okay, I guess that’s really what I want. More time chez Lulu et Jojo with Toots, Lumpy, Sally, and the next time, Banana. I feel like I’m running out of time (with Lucette and marathons) and that’s what Paris taught me.
Oh, and yes; I do believe that it’s actually the Afton 10K OR 15K. I’m sure that’s what you meant to say.
I love the road ID! Unfortunately I can never forget Paris…ever…and I have certainly forgiven. There was just too much “good” to go along with this “not so good” marathon.
What a great travel bunch we were. Also, getting to meet Lulu and Jojo was definitely tops! Thank you for introducing me to these lovely ladies, Sally & Lumpy!!!
Running out of time? Maybe, but I feel like I just started and there’s so many more marathons I want to run. Who knows…I’m just taking it one marathon at a time….
Good luck on the Afton 10-15k!
Lumpy, thanks for complying with my requests! I just realized I’m running a marathon in just over a month! Aaaagh!!! J/K, I feel good about this one…not sure if PR good but good none the less. At least the weather looks somewhat promising….
