I couldn’t bear the thought of walking in this weather today (look to the right, people!!) , so I decided to be hardcore and skate run, in spite of the 5 inches of ice coating the sidewalks. It was about the slowest 2.5 I’ve ever skated run, but I actually was a little bit over dressed. I was dressed for my return, which was into the wind, so the way out was HOT!
A toast to the Snow Miser. Or would that be Jack Frost?
Unfortunately, in this photo, some of the ice had already melted from the face mask and the bottom edge of my hat, and my eyelashes were no longer frozen together.

Oh GAWD!!! You are completely nuts!!! I walked about a block in that freezing cold wind and wanted to cry…
You are crazy!!! Not necessarily because of the cold, but running on ICE?!? I don’t know that I would want to do that…I don’t think I could do that…I would fall flat on my face at the 1st step!
Oh my goodness. I love that photo. I’ve become soft in this southeastern air…
Actually, the ice has different textures. If I’m being insulting because you already know this, forgive me. Sometimes, ice is a solid slick sheet. Sometimes, it’s got a little bit of “pock-ness” to it and your feet can grip, sometimes, there’s so much dirt and debris in it that it almost feels “sticky.” Here in MN, we have all kinds of ice, plus more, so sometimes I just decide to take a running start and slide the length of the ice, just like I did when I was in grade school. It’s just as fun now as it was then. So, really, running on the ice is not that bad.
