There something fishy in the state of Minnesota…

…and I’m not talking about the future sushi living in any of the 10,000+ lakes.

60° F. That’s 15.5° Celsius. More precisely, 288.7055556° Kelvin.

Or, in other words, HOT! Yeah, as in Sweet Angry Jesus HOT!

No really, I mean it. It is not supposed to be 60° F on 11 November in Minnesota. Yeah, it is just short of the record 64° F (2005) . [Hmmm...see a trend ?] However, it is well above the normal/average of 42° F. Let me put this in perspective, it was only 8° less than the normal/average of 68° F in Las Vegas , NV. Yeah, Las Vegas –as in the middle of the desert Las Vegas.

Fine, it was a decent running temp…but I want to wake up tomorrow and see this:

One more tough week before my taper begins….

I got through week 14 without missing any runs.  Despite the cool breeze, it was a little too warm and sunny for today’s 14 miler, but with a bit of walking and some tunes, I got through it.  Today was also the last San Antonio Marathon as we know it, if only the weather had been cooler….  I might sign up next year when it will officially becomes the Rock N’ Roll San Antonio Marathon.  Banana, how about it?  You’re used to the warm weather…hint, hint, just a thought….  Anyway, now I’m just sitting here vegging out in front of the TV, legs propped up, sipping on some red, and feeling quite pleased with myself.  ;)

If I could just get throught week 15, it will be a little tough….  Last week they forcasted a cool front for this coming week, but by the looks of it, they were wrong.  We’ll be in the 80’s THE WHOLE WEEK!!!  The good thing is that I am scheduled to work next Saturday which means that I will be off on Wednesday so I will be able to work in my 10 miler on that day.  The bad thing is that I have to work on Saturday so I will be a little crunched for time between work, Punksk8erdude’s weekend long soccer tournament, and my 20 miler.  Ugh….

Funny, real bumper stickers.

This list was in the Bathroom Reader :

*When everything’s coming your way, you’re in the wrong lane and driving against traffic.

*A day without sunshine is like night.

*If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

*Originality is the art of concealing your sources.

*Shin-Device for finding furniture in the dark.

*Which is the non-smoking lifeboat?

The taper begins.

Awesome 20 miler yesterday…  Won’t bore you with the disjointed meanderings of my mind during the run.   Was strangely nervous before I started, but felt really, really good once I got out of my car.  2 loops around my 3 lakes with the 2nd half of the run just a couple of minutes faster than the first half.  Picked up the pace for the last couple of miles and still felt great.  I’m looking forward to the taper and beginning my obsessive Vegas weather checking.  I think I’m ready.  F*** yeah, Dude!
