Ok, as you may already know if you’ve read Sally’s recent account Punxsk8erdude recently got a new bike…so we went for a ride. 11 miles of urban riding…it was a nice and easy ride under overcast skies, a subtle drizzle, and relatively cool temperatures. This mild weather is freaking me out a little bit…I feel as if I should be bracing myself for a heatwave or something.
Oh, yeah, we had a copycat dinner tonight…steak and frites…sorry, couldn’t help myself after I read your last post. I was accompanied by a little Shiraz and followed by a little brie.
Yesterday Lumpy and I rode over to Theodore Wirth Park. We hit two different sets of off road trails that were really fun. I only came off the bike once. I needed to come off the bike…I realized at one point I had a death grip on my handlebars, and I was riding with too much hesitation. Here in Minnesota, much of the trail is hairpin turns, and since I am very sloppy on turns, I get scared and frustrated. Until I come off the bike. I always need to fall at least once so I can go all out. Today we rode at Murphy Hanrehan . We didn’t feel up to the expert trail, so we stuck with the beginner and intermediate trails. I still came off the bike. I had too much coffee this morning, so I was jittery and even sloppier on turns. I’m pleased we got so much riding in, but my legs are definitely feeling it, and I told Lumpy yesterday that I had forgotten how much upper body I use when I am off road. I’m going to sleep very hard tonight, I hope.
