I had a great run at the Beach to Bay relay marathon this weekend. I ran the 3rd leg (the infamous bridge) which is 4.4 miles long in just under 40 minutes. It wasn’t as bad a leg as it’s been made out to be, but it was hot. Technically it wasn’t as hot as it’s been in the past, but running next to the water on an elevated concrete bridge on a sunny day sure makes it feel like a scorcher! We had a good team, Jason pulled through, but I missed Sally & Lumpy. For some reason, as a team, we just can’t seem to break the 4 hour mark. One of our team members was in a car accident just 2 days before the marathon. He was ok, but the doc recommended that he not run…. We’re glad he didn’t back out because there is no way we could have found a replacement, but he had to walk his 4 mile leg. Regardless, we still finished in a decent time of 4:39. Maybe next year…Sally, Lumpy, you guys in?

Don’t know if I can bear the heat again. I would like to beat my best time on the bridge, though. I quite enjoy that leg. There is a 12 person relay up here from Madison, WI to St. Paul, MN. Overnight running, 4-8 mile legs. Sounds like a little slice of heaven to me!
That sounds like fun…when is it? Are you guys considering it? If so let me know…I’d like to be part of your 12 person team!
Yes, we’re considering it. And maybe if all’ya’all consider one on the northern end of I-35 we might consider one on the southern end again.
When is this? Are you still considering it?
