Red Letter Day

red-letter.gifJust one more week until our Red Letter Day, can you believe it?!?  I’m so excited…I’ve actually begun packing!!!  I never pack anything this far in advance…I just don’t want to forget anything.  Great 8 miler today by-the-way, thanks to the mild temperatures - seems like mother nature had my back for most of the long runs these past 17 weeks.  I’m sooooo ready, I don’t know what else to say…the anticipation is quite exhausting.

In the zone.

I can’t stop thinking about this race. It has finally exceeded my worry about school. (Impressive!) I wake up thinking about running, I go to bed thinking about racing, I smell the sweat, and I smell Paris. I can’t say I’m 100% focused, but I’ll go with 98.9%. School still worries me.

Excerpts from “She”

She pursued big dreams instead of small realities.

She discovered her real measurements had nothing to do with numbers or statistics.

She turned her can’ts into cans and her dreams into plans.

She went out on a limb, had it break off behind her, and discovered she could fly.

She walked in when everyone else walked out.

She ran ahead where there were no paths.

She crossed borders recklessly, refusing to recognize limits, saying bonjour and buon giorno as though she owned France and Italy and the day itself.

She designed a life she loved.

She took the leap and built her wings on the way down.

Another trail run.

The trails are only slightly mucky so it seems silly to not be out on them. Today we did the Lebanon Hills trail I was considering doing this coming week. It wasn’t 8, but it was good. I will always believe that life is better when it’s lived outside.
