And now, the next installment of my deconstruction of How to run 50 marathons in 50 days.
In the Wired piece the Perfect Human they write:
6. SHOW YOUR BODY WHO’S BOSS
“The human body has limitations,” Karnazes says. “The human spirit is boundless.” Your mind, in other words, is your most important muscle. As a running buddy told him: “Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: Wow!! What a ride!”
Yeah. This time around I agree.
This past weekend was all about showing our bodies who’s boss. And it is all in your head. In my brief experience and humble (hah!) opinion, the vast majority of The Marathon is a head game. And lately I have not been able to play any Jedi mind tricks on myself. This has made the vast majority of my last many runs, well, torturous. But I got it in my head, finally, this last weekend, that I can do this.
I think we all did. This is ganna be fun!!!

Thank you, Lumpy…it’s ganna be a BLAST!
CHEERS!
Use those brainy muscles!!
