Superbowl Run

13 miles complete…overall it was a great run despite the fact that I had to squeeze it in today.  Miguel had a soccer tournament this weekend in Austin.  It would have been ideal to run in Austin, but I wasn’t prepared.  We got home in the late afternoon, I changed into my running attire, and took off while Miguel & Tomate stayed home to watch the Superbowl (a.k.a Prince half time show).  Miguel was totally passed out by the time I got home - not his kind of futbol.  Anyway, it became an evening run, the sun went down after the first 4 miles so I had to run the rest in the dark.  The weather was good, in the low 60’s when I started running, then the temperature dropped about 10 degrees during the course of my run…which made it a little more comfortable.  Anyway, I felt great, not tired, no aches, no breathing problems, and I didn’t feel the blisters on my feet until about the last 1/2 mile.

  • Did you end up getting new shoes yet? What’d you get?

  • No yet, but it’s on my agenda for sometime this week. Will probably get something similar to what I have now (Mizuno Wave Rider 8 ) - I think the new/replacement model is the Wave Rider 10. Also want to check out the Wave Nirvana & Wave Inspire. There’s also a couple of Saucony’s I also want to check out (Grid Trigon 4 Ride & ProGrid Triumph 4). It takes me time to figure this out and I just haven’t had any - time that is.
