Yep, the boy knocked me on my rear again. Today it was warmer outside, so stuff is melting. I intentionally drove up to the lake in order to have a non-slushy running path. It wasn’t slushy. Just look at the post-run photo. yep.

So far I’ve had a good week though I was a bit tired after today’s 3 miler. These short 3 mile runs are somewhat deceiving. The short runs always seem like they will be a breeze but instead they often tend to knock the wind right out of me. My 3 milers (as most of my other runs) always start somewhat rough and clumsy. After the 1st mile I usually start to catch my breath. After the 2nd mile I start to loosen up and get comfortable…then, suddenly, it’s over.  I’m sure I won’t feel the same after this weekend’s 12 miler….
“I think it’s time to change the rules. They are archaic. Women can run, and they can still be women and look like women.”

Yesterday’s 8 miler and today’s hill training were wonderful. I feel like I’ve regained my kid-like joy in running. I wasn’t looking forward to yesterday’s run since I was doing it after driving to Mankato to class and sitting most of the day, but it turned out to be great. I wasn’t sure about today, either, because I’ve had a headache off and on all day, but Guinness was giddy with joy, and it rubbed off on me. I was right that this would be a good week. yay! yay! yay!
Yeah right! Anyway got this fabulous t-shirt in the mail today (THANKS, SALLY!!!) and just had to put it on! Tomate commented, “You just got it and you’re already going to wear it?!?! You’re going to get it all sweaty!”…- Duh?! That’s right I am!!! I wouldn’t have it any other way…and I ran like I meant it. It was fun….

It is 24°F (15°F windchill) and I hate it. Too hot for simple clothing choices and too cold for just one system that keeps you warm without overheating. Feh….
I’d rather 30°F-40°F or -10°F to 5°F….much easier to dress for that.
I ran a bit more than I needed to tonight…partly because I skipped my 3 miler yesterday and ran with Sally today…so I end up with about 7 miles.
I ache. And Sally is trying to kill me, again…
Today’s 3 miler was very “ho hum” but I was feeling great. No tired legs today! ![]()
All day. I swear. Even when I groaned going up and down the stairs thanks to yesterday’s miserable experience. So that you, the viewing public, may share my vision, here’s Tucker. Today I think I went into oxygen deprivation. Just a little. I went into some kind of deprivation, that’s for sure; on top of that I provided a few moments of brevity for the other runners and walkers going around Lake Harriet this evening. They must have noticed the panic on my face. Here’s the crazy four legger. Note the second photo…the one with the maniacal look on his face. uh huh. I’m jes’ sayin’.
I work at REI, for anyone reading this who doesn’t really know me. Ha, ha, ha. I know it’s just the three of us geeeeeekkkss! The point is, we started carrying the Mizuno Wave Inspire. I still like the Maverick better, but this “replaced” it, and what are you going to do when the BEST SHOE EVER no longer exists?!? The next point is, I got to use my discount on my new favorite running shoes!!! I love my life.
