As earlier mentioned…
In the Wired piece the Perfect Human they write:
2. GO LACELESS
One of the biggest annoyances in long-distance running is lace management. After banging out 50 miles, it can be hard to squat or even bend over long enough to tie your shoes. The North Face recently responded to Karnazes’ complaints and came out with the $130 M Endurus XCR Boa. Its laceless upper is enmeshed in thin steel cables that connect to a tension dial at the back. A simple turn cinches the shoe onto the foot. No more slowing down to fiddle with laces.
Sure. Whatever floats your boat. Or holds your shoes on. I seem to recall Velcro works.
I can respect that. But I’m going to reserve judgment until North Face sends me a free pair of their Boa’s to evaluate. In fact, I WE will be happy to evaluate anything any running related company wants to throw my OUR way.
I’ll even write about it here. In a new category just for reviews. I’m somewhere between a US 10 to 11.5 when it comes to running shoes, depending on the company and their lasts. So you should send me a couple of sizes to try on.
C’mon North Face…I dare ya.

Moving Comfort…you know you want to send me some stuff. You know you do.
This is exactly what I expected to find out after reading the title LACELESS at Toots and Sally Ride Again. Thanks for informative article
Oh…delayed reaction: How, exactly, is this what you expected?
I have apair of boa’s and i have to say they are pretty confortable and mostly convenient… but i dont run much, i got them because the tying meacansim is cool and they were confortable, but i could see running in them as a hell of a lot of fun. the one issue i have is tha knob in the back can sometimes hit something just the right way and loosen the shoe, but still that is a rare occasion, and out of the bout month I’ve had them has happened bout twice. Still takes much less time then tieing your shoes and requires no brain power to use.
